Seniors Night

Have not been doing much in the way of needlework or quilting the past few weeks, I have other commitments this time of the year which unfortunately, brings to admit maybe that I am not as young as I use to be (lol) .
Firstly I am on the events committee within our local council and have been busy organising functions, each year the Council holds 2 events for the over 60 years of age residents within our council area. The first was held last Wednesday night ( 26th November ) and the next is this Wednesday (3rd December). Each event is catered for approx 250 Seniors Residents and approx 70 others this includes Staff, service groups and entertainers, Staff dedicate a lot of time in arranging and preparing for the events, We supply a nice hot meal of roast meat, gravy and hot vegetables followed by Xmas Pudding and ice cream, followed by a visit from Father Christmas and a free gift, followed with Tea, Coffee and after dinner mint, during the evening members of the staff entertain them.
It is a very long and tiring evening but at the end of the night, the smiles of there faces makes it all worth it.
I have not been blogging regularly but , I have found the time to check out and keep up with many blog sites (lol).

Mollie is back

Finally found Mollie .......Mollie was found at the bottom of another bag.......I swapped bags when I went to Adelaide Last weekend and only swapped back tonight ........DH was not game enough to comment ...as I felt silly enough that I could not remember where Mollie was.

So I thought I would have a show and tell ............Miss Audrey came back a few days ago and I have had the binding on for a few days but because Mollie did not what to come out and play I was not able to have a show and tell until now. My lovely quilting Guru Liz from Loxton has once again excelled. Unfortunately the photos do not give Liz's fab work justice.

Flipped the back over a little to show the backing fabric

Bit of the guru work .....the machine quilting is absolutely fabulous

Big Thank you to Liz

The quilt is to big to photograph it all

(fits on the Queen Size bed and three sides just sit nicely on the floor)

And that's a wrap (lol)

Back later with a show and tell ........

purchases from the Adelaide Craft and Quilt Show from last weekend.

Adelaide Craft and Quilt Fair

Back from the Adelaide Craft and Quilt Fair
6th - 9th November 2008
at the Adelaide Showgrounds Wayville
Left early Saturday morning had a pleasant trip to Adelaide bit of roadworks and a few showers of light rain on the way......DH and I made good timing so decided to have a hot chocolate at Hungry Jacks before heading towards the Quilt show ....unfortunately..... will not bore you but after 3/4 of a hour the Hot chocolates still had not been served so .......got money back and headed off to the quilt show....... where I found some new shops and ideas as well as some favourites.
Jane from the Patchwork Apple and Sarah from Quilt Fabric Delights.....also had the great pleasure of catching up with Lorraine and "The Prince" we enjoyed a light lunch and finally a hot chocolate together .......Then a quick trip to Hetties Patch .....before heading home.
Unfortunately no photos this blog as dear Mollie (my camera) has been misplaced ??????????
will take some photo's of my purchases when Mollie gets back

Red and Cream

Well the day started early .......DH woke up this morning, not being able to stand up as the room and surroundings where moving all around, added with vomiting and shaking.........so hence a visited to the local medical clinic where it seem we wait for hours........but it was about half an hour them of the the local pharmacy to get some medication.

So I have had a very quiet day DH in bed all day. YS off playing cricket .........so I spend the day sewing .

Remember this from yesterdays blog well .............it is now a pieced top ready to be quilted ( not for a while a bit tired)

I used the pattern Helen Stubbings had created for the Gathering in the hills (Lobethal) a few weeks ago ..Organised by Jane from Patchwork Apple

The quilt does sit flat just as I was taking the photo a breeze lifted it

Oops nearly forgot the fabulous fabric is from Hetties in Adelaide
